Workshop Information: COVID has upended our homes, our classrooms, and our lives. With it, GDP dropped and unemployment rose so quickly that economists have had to change the way that we create graphs featuring economic data. The shock was so dramatic that it made all other economic shifts look minor in comparison. In the second half of 2020, the economy recovered swiftly - or did it? Was this a V-shaped recession? Or maybe a K? Join us as we explore these questions in a brand new package of economics lessons that illustrate the unequal impact across the economy - and the government's challenges to respond.
Every teacher that completes the workshop will receive a $50 Amazon gift card and access to the entire package of lessons and materials.
Speaker Information: Brett Burke is a veteran high school economics from South Florida. He is the recipient of many honors including _____. Having retired from the classroom in June 2020, he now serves as the Director of Education with the Florida Council on Economic Education.
